Sunflower Power!! 1-of-1 Dress
I thrifted this 100% cotton denim base dress, originally made by Cabin Creek, and created the sunflower from secondhand and long-loved textiles, including a green waffle shirt that I had and wore many many times since middle school, and the sweet little ladybugs from a pair of my childhood underwear (LOL). This dress is a sensory dream featuring a fuzzy flower center, smooth stem, waffle textured leaves with 3D lettuce ruffle trim, quilted petals, and little ladybugs attached with permanent fabric glue giving them a subtle crisp along the edges. Complete with "Whitz Fitz" signature on the back lower right corner
The dress was made using an applique technique, standard machine sewing, free-motion quilting, and hand-sewing to adhere the leaves onto the pockets so they would remain fully functional. In total, I spent 20+ hours creating this bright beauty and I hope you love her as much as I do!!
